Restaurant "Il Poderino"
The Marzalla Agriturismo restaurant, now called "Osteria Locanda Il Poderino", is still run by the family Cecchi de' Rossi, and is located in an ancient farmhouse surrounded by an olive-grove.
In the internal dining-rooms you will find period furniture and be warmed by a log fire which will often be used for traditional grilling ("cottura alla brace") of meat, vegetables, or spit-roasts.
In summer you can dine outdoors, cooled by the mountain breeze which drifts down from the “Svizzera pesciatina”.
The cooking is typical traditional Tuscan, which offers the old family recipes and includes handmade pasta, soups, boiled meats with local chutney ("mostarda alla frutta") and pickles.
To end your meal you can select from a range of “chestnut flour” recipes (castagnaccio - a sweet pancake - and orange-leaf fritters), homemade jam tarts, and hard almond biscuits which you dip in your glass of "Vin santo".
